Transgender Celebrities New Appearance Is Simply Stunning

Transgender representation in the media has slowly been on the rise, with modeling agencies hiring progressively more transgender models and actors and performers earning prestigious awards once implicitly reserved for cis-performers. Here are some of the boundary-breaking celebrities who’ve undergone gender transition and helped change media representation and discourse around the world.

Nikkie De Jager (age 30 years)

Originally from Wageningen, Netherlands, Nikkie De Jager began uploading videos to YouTube in 2008 after gaining inspiration from Lauren Conrad’s makeup on the hills. She became a professional makeup and hair artist, and was named by Forbes as one of the top beauty influencers of 2017.

De Jager, now widely known as NikkieTutorials by 13.7 million subscribers, revealed that she’d transitioned as a teenager on her YouTube channel after receiving blackmail by someone threatening to make her assigned sex at birth public. Her fans, fellow influencers, and a list of celebrities gave their support.

Gigi Gorgeous (age 32 years)

Gigi Gorgeous first began uploading videos to YouTube in 2008, under the name Gregory Gorgeous. Her video blogs and make-up tutorials gained immediate attention and soon earned her a large online following. In 2011, Gigi began filming The Avenue, a reality program following her own life.

Since transitioning, Gigi Gorgeous has been the subject of a documentary film, This is Everything: Gigi Gorgeous, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. She has also dabbled in modeling work, appearing on the cover of numerous magazines. In 2019, she published a memoir based on her transitioning experience.

Elliot Page (age 37 years)

Originally from Nova Scotia, Canada, Elliot Page entered the spotlight for his roles in Hard Candy and Juno, the latter of which he earned Academy Award nominations and several other awards. He also played Kitty Pryde in the X-Men franchise and earned critical acclaim for roles in Inception, Whip It, and Tallulah.

Elliot Page publicly came out as transgender in 2020. He’d previously been cast as the character Vanya Hargreeves in the Netflix series The Umbrella Academy. Once Page came out, the series likewise reflected his transition in his character’s story, as shown when Viktor comes out to his siblings in season three.
